Body art is unique in that its canvas is both alive and three-dimensional.
As a result, some ideas that work well on paper may be difficult to realize as
effective body art. But these characteristics also provide fantastic opportunities
to exploit the natural form of the body as an intrinsic component of the finished art,
ultimately creating a magical image that incorporates and enhances the features of the
human subject, rather than merely covering or masking them. And although the technical
aspects of painting are very important, there is much more to realizing a successful
design than just technique alone.
